If you want to see the sunshine, you have to weather the storm.

I love walking in general but with my camera its magical. I like how Annie Leibovitz puts it:

Nature is so powerful, so strong. Capturing its essence is not easy - your work becomes a dance with light and the weather. It takes you to a place within yourself.
— Annie Leibovitz

I haven't done much photographing lately as my camera has been getting fixed. I have a loaner 5D Mark ii at the moment so I thought why not in such awesome winter weather go for a little photo adventure around home.

  • 9am - I decide to go for a walk around Mangere Bridge. Weather = Sunny
  • 10am - I arrive at a friends place totally saturated... Weather = Not sunny

Lydia and I still ended up going for a walk around even though it was cold and wet. I love the rain as it usually causes my images to be a bit softer and pastily. I love it except when I'm cold and wet.

My adventure is detailed below in a few pictures:

I'm a small town New Zealand boy who grew up on a farm with a Dad who showed me life through a lens. He had a Pentax Film Camera that captured my eye and I've loved photography ever since.
